Ban Ki Moon
November 21, Kathmandu. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said he is alarmed by reports of
obstruction and destruction of life-saving medical supplies in Nepal.
The statement comes a day after agitating Madheshi Morcha supporters set ablaze a truck ferrying essential medical supplies in Birgunj, Also read: Cadres torch drug cargo defying UDMF pledge
He has called on all sides to lift these restrictions without further delay and underlined Nepal’s right of free transit.

A spokesperson for Ban said in New York on Friday that ahead of planned protests on November 21 , “the Secretary-General further stresses the importance of dialogue and non-violence, as well as respect for peaceful protest and the freedom of assembly.”
Ban has urged all sides to resolve their differences in a peaceful and flexible manner.
